Soon surfers everywhere will be asking, "Dude, are you like a Muslim surfer girl or something?"
At least, that's what surfers have been asking Sama Wareh after she purchased her Splashgear swimsuit, which is designed especially for Muslim women who want to maintain their modesty -- and hit the beach.
The brightly-colored suits are made from synthetic materials that allow flexible movement in the water while not sticking to a woman's body when she exits the water -- which could result in a particularly immodest moment.
Currently, about a dozen stores worldwide sell swimwear for Muslim-American women (http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?ID=337110&Category=8&subCategoryID=)
, mostly through online catalogues. Some of the more popular outlest include Primo Moda, Ahiida, and Splashgear.
While I doubt that Muslim swimwear will take over western styles, I wouldn't be surprised to see these some of these suits while visiting Hurghada's new wreck.
